in Nonneseter klosterkapell
a practice of weekly silence, every Wednesday 5-6 pm.
14 September – 23 November
Kaigaten 3, Bergen
Come and go whenever you want, during this hour.
Open for all religious and non-religious practitioners. Nonneseter
klosterkapell is a remnant of a monastery for nuns from the 13th century.
The chapel no longer belongs to the Church of Norway, but to
Fortidsminneforeningen, and is therefore a somewhat neutral, but still
sacred, space for anyone searching for a practice of silence.
No common exercises or instructions. Stand up, lay down, stretch,
pray, write, or just sit still in silence. The only rule is: no cell phones and
no talking in the room.
There are no chairs but meditation stools and pillows, on carpets. It is
often cold in the room – dress warmly!
